APRIL IN PARIS
This heart-warming play by one of Britain’s most popular playwrights is a comic look at the English travelling abroad. Al and Bet lead a quiet, boring life in Yorkshire. After twenty years with the same company, he has lost his job and cannot find another one. Frustrated with their life and worried about their future, the marriage has stagnated. Then she wins a competition in a magazine. The prize: a romantic holiday for two in Paris. This is their first experience abroad. They have to get used to French cuisine, struggle with the French language and modern art, confront strange sexual mores, etc. All of which has a profound effect on their relationship and on the way they view their life and the world outside their own country.
