Select Captain is the musical alter-ego of danish singer/songwriter and guitarist Kristian Gaarskjær.
Since 2014 Select Captain have released two albums and an EP. Had numerous singles in rotation on national Danish radio, and toured his native country and Germany relentlessly, both solo and with his band.
Select Captain has supported many bigger names as George Ezra, The Lone Bellow, Ed Harcourt, Will Hoge, Austin Lucas, Joan Shelley and many, many more.
Select Captain release his second album Strings & Feathers to great reviews in October 2016 and is working on a new album at the moment, set for release in early 2018.
The songwriting universe deals with aspects of human feelings in a divided world. Loneliness, arrogance, greed, joy, love and despair go hand in hand, and gives the listener the sound of a world in change and disorder.
Select Captain has released music on Copenhagen based label Mini Me Records as well as his own label Soundchest Records,.
